speedo help!

I have cleaned the magnetic pick up and teeth on the wheel, so is this just a matter of buying a new pick up? Cheers

What sort of gap did you set it back to? The sensor needs to be really close to the toothed wheel - the thickness of a single sheet of paper is about right!

If you have the gap right then yes - you should be able to plug a new sensor straight in. Always assuming of course that it isn't a problem between the sensor and the speedo.

Get the sensor as close as you can without it touching and then see if it works, they can be a bit temperamental.

I haven't re checked the gap, but how could it move? It hasn't been touched. There doesn't look like in the picture i was gratefully sent with a nut to adjust to. I will have another look at it!

It just screws in and out of it's mount - the nut is there to lock it. If it's come loose (or is missing) then the sensor could vibrate and move away from the signal wheel.

Sorry - I had assumed that you had removed the sensor to clean it. You cant really get to the sensing area unless you do.
