Picking up my Cerb today.

just be carefull on the loud pedal in the wet until you get used to the power delivery it can bite, hope you enjoy as much as I have over the last 12 years of ownership its mine till I can no longer drive
Thanks for the welcome guys, as you will see from my other post I had a bit of a problem getting her home and shes still not running quite right. Thats not stopping my grinning like the Cheshire Cat. The weather wasn't too bad I'm glad to say.

I'm from Eastwood, just the other side of Rayleigh.Just read your other post Tony & feel for you loads.
They can be a rollercoster ride & need commitment,i have had many ups & downs over the last 5 years in mine,but as others have said they get under your skin.
I wouldnt swap mine regardless & hope the road ahead offers you a smoother ride.

I too have just read the other thread. You are probably thinking 'what on earth have I done, have I made a huge error here?!' I am sure this is a temporary, if not bloomin frustrating hitch. I assume you bought privately, so it's not like you can return the car to whence it came to have it looked at?
Not sure about your exact symptoms, when mine was hunting and stalling whilst hot, it turned out to be one of the ignition coils.
Might be worth running the car down to a specialist to have a look and give the car a general once over.
You will love Cerb ownership so don't fret. When they are going, there is very little else on the road that will get you smiling quite like a Cerb (especially a 4.5!!!)

I used my phone camera to get these pics so they don't show off the colour too well, the one from Pistonheads classifieds shows the colour a lot better. The cars home and I've been tinkering today getting her running a lot better although still not as she should. Hopefully some kind person with a laptop will offer to plug her in and have a quick check.

Gazza the chassis is pretty good and solid, it's got a little surface rust that I'll treat and then protect it all.
A fellow PH member has just been round to connect my Cerb up to a laptop and see if we can find the running issue, went for a quick drive and on a dry, straight road the back end stepped out on acceleration. I now understand whos the boss (she is) and that she could kill me at any time so I need to treat her with respect and care, I've also realised why we all love them so much.

Thought I would add a quick update nove I've had my Cerb for just over 4 months.
The running issue\missfire was cured by chaging both Lambda sensors, she was then taken to Taylor TVR who adjeusted the throttles a little and said she seems to be in excellent condition and very well maintained, mechanically sound. Since then the wipers stopped working, I decided to have a look at them a couple of days later and to my amazment they were working again.
I drive my Cerb every chance I get (except to work as I don't think a 3 mile journey does the car any good), every time I still get that grin on my face and can't believe how fast she is or how amazing she sounds. I did however get a little sideways at 90mph (on an Autobhan of course) showing off the performance to a friend while leaving an M5 behind even while I was sideways, again teaching me a new level of respect for the Cerb.
It still amazes me how other people react to the car, the nice comments, being let out at junctions and even coming back to your car to find people standing lookking and taking photos. I was in a shop last week and out the window I could see my Cerb, a kid with his parents said something along the lines of "wow, mum, dad look a TVR Cerbera Speedo 8, they can do 185mph", I didn't have the heart to correct him.
Basically even with the little niggles and stuff I love this car!
