Removing Steering Wheel

Hi Any hint tips to get it off for a re-trim? Is it just the hex head bolts on the front that hold it on? and what about the electrical connections.

You undo the nut, and them pull the wheel off, gently but firmly because it's connected to a ribbon cable that's about 2 miles long and spiralled round inside the wheel and will un-spiral itself in a milli second if you aren't careful.

When you put wheel back and reconnect ribbon cable check and double check you have all the pins in the housing,as a recent delve under my column showed one pin not in the housing but bent down,an easy fix but it could have snapped.also put a dab of nail varnish on one side of ribbon connecter and one on the steering pins so when you put it back it will be the corrcect way around.And dont ask why i have nail varnish at hand

When you pull the wheel off don't remover the nut completely in the first instance. If the wheel is stuck to the column and suddenly breaks free with a tug, without the nut being there it could fly off completely and damage the ribbons that are attached.
