Converting a S6 to an AJP

Anyone converted a Speed 6 Cerbera to a 4.2 or 4.5

Is it a conversion that can be done or are there any restrictions on the S6 that wont allow the 4.2 or 4.5 engine?

Probably cheaper to just buy an AJP Cerb.

Under bonnet wiring loom would need to be changed for the extra cylinders

Get a 4.5 s6 rebuild from power and you'll get to 380 bhp (which is pretty much a good 4.2 ajp power and only 30bhp off a good 4.5). I think it might work out cheaper than buying an ajp and fitting it to a s6 Cerbera? A 4.5 s6 build must be 8k I guess???

Or get a 4.3 6 pot rebuild from STR8SIX and get will over 400BHP, they get 380BHP from a 4Ltr if you don't want the expense of the 4.3 conversion.

The figures are somewhat lower in practice.

A good 4ltr is circa 370, the 4.3 c380 and 4.5 c390.

Thanks for the updates....... I was look at the very low mileage S6 thats for sale in the classifieds but wanted to know the costs to convert to an AJP and then keep this as a showroom car

We will have to agree to disagree, 4 ltr rebuilt put out 380 odd at SRR day a month ago, Power 4.5 did about the same.

Power had a 4.3 from STR8SIX on the rolling road for mapping after the build and posted figures on Piston Heads of over 470BHP.

OK maybe a small discrepancy but I stand by the numbers I have listed as proven (give or take) by the SRR and ex-Joolz rolling roads. The 470 bhp numbers are clearly inaccurate.

Judging from the SRR day, some rollers seemed very optimistic based on the comments from owners.

The 4.5 Sagaris made 387bhp, the 4.0 sag made 357bhp, the T350 made 345bhp

My standard Tuscan S with a Str8six rebuild made 380 there a week before the RR day and 360 before the rebuild.

My standard 4.2 ajp made 349bhp 300ft/lb a few weeks ago with 54k on it.
