MIL light on at full throttle?

The other day I was making progress in second gear with my right foot planted in the shag pile and noticed the MIL light was lit. Reducing to 3/4 throttle and it went out. Normal driving and it is not on.

Is this indicative of a throttle pot problem or perhaps fuel starvation?

The only way to find out is to hook up to a laptop with the diagnostic software. Anything else is just guessing.

I agree regarding the laptop, though I had this years ago, was the throttle pot going out or range at full throttle travel, think I needed to reset the throttle in the software. Plug it in and give it full throttle see if the reading goes out probably will.

The throttle reset in the software only does anything on the Speed 6 engine (according to the help files), on an AJP 8 any throttle adjustment is manual. You can of course reset the adaptive maps, but I don't think that those maxing (or mining) out will cause an MIL light.

It's either Multi-purpose or Miscellaneous Indicator Light. Or Mother-In-Law. Both are generally bad news

It's almost certainly a throttle pot. You might have some crud at the end of the sweep - you could try pumping the pedal close to the end of it's travel (engine off of course) to see if you can clean it up.

Was told by Fernies it means Malfunction Indicator Lamp - as it was on constantly when I test drove a Cerb S6 a while back.

You were right the first time, or rather the iPhone was.

when it does this just at full throttle it can be caused by the throttle opening more than full and going past where it should, there is an adjuster under the dash to stop this happening, it is basically a bolt that stops you pushing the loud peddle to 11/10ths.

^ that's what I was saying had happened with me, it was ages ago so it was a mechanical fix not the reset as earlier mentioned,Jules did mine what you will find is the butterflies will get to full open then start to close as they turn past vertical, so effectively closing on what seems like full throttle.
