Folks, for the first time in my TVR owning life (9 years) the M.I.L light has come on (2000, 4.5 LW Cerb).

Any thoughts on typical or common causes of this?

The M.I.L light seemed to flicker on and off at times (e.g. it would go off for a few seconds and then come back on.

Do I need to be calling the RAC for a low-loader?

Cheers,
gixxer.

Mil light is one to worry about but mainly cos it means that there might be a fuelling problem that is destroying your cats.
If car is running ok then I would just get it to a dealer or indie with a computer. They will prob just diagnose it as a faulty temp sender.

I had a problem with the MIL light, which started after a severe downpour of rain. Turned out that water had gotten into the Lambda probes and was causing the problem. Engine dried out after 5 days and the fault cleared!

My MIL light has only ever lit up once, and that was when my Dad stalled it. Gave it five minutes and all was OK and has never reappeared since
