LOL ran out of Electricity

Big fuse went, didn't notice the battery warning light was on, as it was during the day and the lamp wasnt very bright. I estimate she went for about 70 miles before running out of electricity in the middle lane of a rather busy roundabout at the lights. Whoops

Have added spare big fuses to the ever growing tool kit/parts department, being carried around in the boot.

I've never heard of an alternator fuse blowing on any other car, but it seems pretty much guaranteed to happen on the Cerb - Why is that?

Because it's crap. You can upgrade the fuse and housing to something far more suited to the job.

Sometimes they crack and still work but that's when the niggles start and frustration sets in.

When mine went, I found it wasn't quite the right size so was curved slightly. Add that to the vibration as it's attached to the engine and it always cracks at the spade terminal, where it changes shape. I filed the new one so that it was an easy fit onto the terminal bolts and it hasn't gone again in 5 years.
