As per the title, I am on the hunt for a cerbera. I've checked a few out and I think I've found 'the one'. The only thing stalling my purchase is the sale of my current steed, an E46 M3.

I know that the cerb is a mile apart in terms of driving experience, but I'm enterring with my eyes wide open. I'm getting a £500 ford ka to take me to and from work, which will hopefully make the cerb that little bit more special when I get in it. It should also get me there 'if' the tvr gets stroppy. I am lucky in taht I live only 10 minutes away from Raceproved and have already been to see Russell a couple of times.
I've been lurking on the forum for a number of weeks now, and look forward to adding my 2 penneth.

Off topic - I see you used Quarry in Sheffield and then the place in Worksop. I was thinking of taking my ahem Mini to Quarry. Any good?

Raceproved know the car I am looking at and have given it a clean bill of health.
With regards to Quarry Motors then my experience is mixed to say the least. For spares then they are next to none, superb service and quality. Service however........
Shortly after I bought the M3 the inspection 2 was due. I took it to Quarry as they were close to where I work and at that time I had not heard of Parkside Autos in Worksop. When I took it in to Quarry I asked them to look at the small oil leak from the central part of the engine. When I went to pick up the car I was told that the insp 2 had not been done. I was also told that I needed a new head gasket and it was this causing the oil leak. Ouch. They then started talking about recon engines and a figure of circa £2k was mentioned.
A lot of what they said didn't quite sit right with me, so I asked that they continue with the insp 2 service, and I would hold out on what to do next.
The following day I handed over £500 and drove my car away. I had since discovered Parkside Autoas in Worksop so I drove in to have a chat with them. Much to their shock and horror, when they opened the bonnet they discovered firstly that the fan shroud had not been clipped back together and the fan itself was not even connected !! It was merely rested in the housing pushing against the spindle. What sort of damage could that have caused ? Anyway, Parkside a couple of days later discovered the oil leak to be coming from a loose mounting screw on the tensioning chain which piggy backs onto an oil line. Tightened up, £70 including full re steamed engine and 2 years later the car has not dropped another spec of oil.
So in summary, spare parts go to Quarry, service, I think not.
