When aplying for insurance on my Cerbie they keep insisting that it has to be Thatcham imobolised or something. Is the TVR standard imobiliser up to this speck and if so how do I prove it?? If not how do I overcome it?? Thanks in advance.

Cerbera alarm are Thatcham Cat 1. They are alarmed and immobilised or should be.

If you don't have any documents saying that then visit your local friendly TVR dealer and the should be able to give you a letter to confirm this.

I have a letter, included with the paperwork for my car, from TVR, which reads as follows -

'Please take this letter as confirmation that every TVR Cerbera manufactured between January 1996 and August 1999 is fitted with the Meta M99T alarm system.

This alarm comprises of two units linked together; the M99T alarm unit with battery backed siren and the M36T immobliiser.

The M99T alarm system is a Thatcham approved article if used with the M36T immobiliser, boot and bonnet pin switches. Unfortunately, the boot and bonnet pin switches are, at present, not fitted on the TVR Cerbera.

The M36T immobliser is a stand alone unit, has a Thatcham category 2 approval, approval number TE1 1099/0895.'

So the answer may be 'no'.
