The RL 17's are the best wheel for the Cerb.
I like the 18's
That said the RL7 is a different beast, very dependable and a good looker.
Search for the postings from a few years back and see the input from 'those in the know' with regards to Raceline and the toils and tribulations that occured with RL8's

My car has anthracite 18" spiders ,I would like to fit the car with the original 17" RL7 wheels (anthracite) where can I get a set ?
Oh & the Spiders are for sale when I get them

This is a good plan in my opinion for two reasons. 1 - they just look right, especially if you want to keep the car looking original, and 2 - they give excellent handling on "normal" roads.Oh & the Spiders are for sale when I get them

Mine had 18" SP12s on when I bought it and, in fairness, I think they would be excellent on a track or just motorway quality roads. However they were a hard ride with 35 profile tyres and could occasionally clip the rear wheel arches on the lumpy back roads I use. I was fortunate as I also got the original wheels with my car. I had them refurbished as they were badly corroded and loosing pressure but the ride is just so much better on the original wheels.
I'd like a second set to put winter tyres on.

... you'd be better equiped with chocolate buttons, many of us ditched 18's a good few years back due to failings in casting, internal cracking and ease of buckling, be very carefull with 18's
Yes aware of the issues with the 18's and questioned that with the chap I bought off. He had them checked out and all was good. And I keep a close eye on them.I'm not sure of the in and out's but wasn't it a batch problem? Pretty sure Dave said he spoke with the factory about it.

Don't think I could go for Spiders TBH.

That's a crack indeed!
Wouldn't tyres loose pressure if they were cracked or is it only surface?
Depends, when mine cracked, one lost pressure and one didn't got all the way back from the 'ring with both cracked. Only went flat after it had been in the garage for a few days. Checked my tyre pressures each run while I was out there.Wouldn't tyres loose pressure if they were cracked or is it only surface?
The seal is on the lower portion of the bead well (the horizontal portion not the vertical portion) and I've yet to see an RL crack through the lower bead.
