Anyone tried a Tuscan.
Discussion
Guys,
As the title suggests, I am thinking of trying a Tuscan and wondered if anyone had either gone from a Cerbera to a Tuscan or at least have some experience to speak of?. How does it compare, harder, softer, slower, faster? Drive and handle better, worse, also reliability? Your comments please.
Trevor.

i have a cerb (AJP) and a tuscan (S)As the title suggests, I am thinking of trying a Tuscan and wondered if anyone had either gone from a Cerbera to a Tuscan or at least have some experience to speak of?. The Cerb sounds wayyyyy better, is more hard, faster or slower i have no idea but according to the numbers the Tuscan S should be faster.
To be honest i think the Tuscan drivers nicer and softer at low speeds.
And the Tuscan feels more solid... when you close the door, it just sounds like a real and more solid door...
And the what i notice is that many more people turn their heads when they see a Tuscan.
But anyway, i think that the Cerb looks more beautiful
My Cerb is Opal (White) and my Tuscan S is Black.
costs... i have no idea but guess about the same for both of them
I've currently got both - A 4.2 Cerb and a Mk1 Tuscan S. They're different to drive, and the Tuscan does show that it's a newer design (plus as said above, you can't go anywhere without being looked at in the Tuscan, not that the Cerb is really the car for a shrinking violet either).
I wouldn't say i prefer one over the other, just ended up accidentally buying a Cerb, and can't justify keeping both cars - hence the Tuscan is up for sale. Having said that, I could imagine ending up with a Tuscan again at some point in the future!
If you're up Milton Keynes way, send me a message if you'd like to go out in it (the Tuscan S)

It was the Tuscan S I was thinking about although I haven't determined the differences between the regular and the S yet. Also the MK2 differences. I like the Rw feel of the engine in the Cerbera (4.2 AJP) and was hoping the straight six was a good. How do they handle compared to the Cerbera and has anyone tracked theirs?
Thanks for the earlier replies.

had a Tuscan (Red Rose)
beautiful and could take the roof off
but other than this (and looks are subjective I know) Cerb wins hands down.
Speed wise really honestly there is bugger all in it - unless you are willing to lose life/licences. However IMHO Cerb handles far better and is so much more planted (unless you start with a good Tuscan and spend a lot on set up) Mine's a 2001 4.5 and it is a much smoother, torque-ier ride. I loved my wee Tuscan and wouldn't have sold except for the patter of tiny feet but I don' think I'd go back unless I knew I could sort the "death or no death" handling and "will it won't it" back of the mind feeling regarding engines.
Interior Cerb wins - hands down, contact with the car (steering wheel, seats, dash etc) Cerb wins
Tuscan wins on the odd day on the odd road.
Hmm sat side by side they both look awesome different but equally fantastic but actually a Griff is even better looking........

I did, went from a 4.2 Cerb to a 4.0 Tuscan. The Cerb was a much rawer feeling car, every journey an event, though you would never get anywhere feeling relaxed. Tuscan just as fast, easier to drive in and around town, has a newer feel to it, but seems to lack the "race car" feel the Cerb had. Depends what you want to use it for. I miss mine, but love the Tuscan, in an ideal world would have both.

what he said ^^^ perfect description IMHOI went the other way - from Tuscan Mk1 to Cerb 4.2 as I needed the rear seats for my 2 little 'uns. I loved the Tuscan, had a very solid TVR Power rebuilt engine and with CCC cans it sounded fantastic. Great to take the roof off in the sunshine, which I miss terribly, and it looked stunning.
On the down side it always felt like it was trying to jump in the nearest hedge and kill me! Never ever felt like I was totally in control, it was very twitchy. The Cerb is in a different league. It feels totally planted and a lot more predictable. OK so the Cerb has Nitrons and a few other tweaks v the Tuscan on standard shocks (with the SP spacers), but I think the key is the longer wheel base on the Cerb.
There's very little in it in terms of performance, both a awesome. I love the interior of the Cerb, but the interior on the Tuscan is pretty special as well. I think the Tuscan stands out more in terms of extreme design, the Cerb is certainly still an eye catcher just a little understated by comparison (could you say that about a Cerb in the company of anything other than another TVR!) . My Cerb is a 2004 so newer than my 2001 Tuscan meaning I can't comment on the Tuscan feeling more modern, they're on a par for me.
In all honesty I feel very privileged to have owned both. In the long term I will probably go back to a Tuscan, probably a MkII S with the handling sorted. If you could take the roof of the Cerb it might be different.
If I were you I'd go for a Tuscan, you can always sell it and go back to a Cerb

Agree with everything said by WHY TWO above^^^, I also went from a Tuscan to Cerbera because we had Twin boys and needed the rear seats. I would have another Tuscan no problem, loved it and loved getting the roof of and rear window out. My Cerbera is fantastic and I think the slightly better car, but I'm sure like WHY TWO I will end up back in a Tuscan at some point but also with a MK11"S" version. But still plenty of time to enjoy my Cerbera yet, and not even that sure I could ever bring myself to sell it!!
