Coolant Tank Overflow

Every Cerb refurb photoset includes pics where coolant has overflowed from the header tank causing mayhem. I've tried adding an overflow tube but it's only partially effective at best. Has anyone found a better header tank overflow solution?

What are we looking at anyway? Apart from the left back of a 4.5 AJP? Can't see any issues, or am I being dense?

With most chassis refurb photos you will see that the heat shield and chassis paintwork on the left hand side has deteriorated far more than on the drivers side. The picture above also shows that the heat shield has long since disintegrated.

I will find some more examples if needed, but the real question is - What can be done about the coolant overflow?

Are you sure it's coolant overflow? Not road crap thrown up by front wheels? NSF is always going to be worse because it's closer to the gutter.

Still don't see a huge problem in that picture though.
