Tyre Sizes

Just a quick question, has any one run 255/40/17 tyres on RL7 wheels on the front and if so have you had any issues?

255 would tram line no end I run 17" with 235 on the front and it tram lines a little at that but great for the track will be putting 225 on my front spiders for the road use next summer.

It will rub the arches for sure.

I had to have special wheels made and massive camber to get 250s under the front of the race car. They have also worn the inner arches and camber is totally unsuitable for the road at 4.5 degrees.

Thanks for the reply's all, \i am having problems getting tyres of the right size in the makes I want.

I am looking for Toyo R1R or Federal FZ201, both OK in 255 but no 235's to be had any where, current delivery forecast on them is Feb 2012

I have been running 255 on the front for trackdays, the R888's rub a little but the Federal's are about 1/2" wider and they rub a lot, but you do get great front end grip. You wouldn't want to run 255 on the road though, you are constantly fighting the front of the car to keep it going straight.

Thanks, a full set of proper sized Federals are now on order, just hope they don't take to long to get here.
