hi all
bought my first cerb 4.2 about 3 months ago after wanting one for many years and used it for the first time the other day to move from my mums garage to my new house and garage i had built for it.....not bad ah! 2 miles in 3 months and no breakdowns lol.
ive got a bit of work to do on the lump and i need to shim it plus theres an oil leak which drips on ex pipes coming from rear box oil seal. ive already removed the cats and fitted decat pipes as one of the cats had collapsed and was choking her up
first big v8 ive ever had normally used to working on pulsar gtir's (as thats what i deal in) and big bhp jap crap so quite keen to get stuck into the cerb, not as quick as turbod pulsar but i never bought it for its speed i just love the sound of them plus the wacky looks....which is how i got into gtir's
anyways no doubt il be picking peoples brains on here shortly as somewhere i heard that tvr's aint all that reliable lolol

There not as bad as people make out i have have a Cerb for a year now and did 3500 miles with no issues over the summer. Get it on the track and you will really find out how fast they are that's what they were built for really come alive with open space to through them around.

heres a few pics of the old girl for ya's
due to my involvement with the pulsar gtir's over last few years thats what ive mainly run around in but fancied getting something a bit sensible and mundane for a weekend blast lol
ive done quite a bit of track stuff in the pulsar and we have a fully prepped one running almost 500bhp so would be interesting to see how the trevor compares on track and round the twisties but tbh i bought it mainly for cruising round in plus im planning a trip next year to south of france with the mrs (who incidentally hates the cerb) but ho hum she aint driving it lol.
wheres the best place to get shims and engine parts etc for these babies? as il go right over the thing throughout the winter when i get time.

Hi there mate.. nice cerb.. slightly off topic. Is that a scissor lift in one of those pics.
If so whats it like to work with. Im contemplating sticking one in my garage this winter to make clutch replacement etc easier. In day to day use is there anything which you wouldnt do with the car on it vs a traditional two post?

yes fella we bought a pair of them as our old unit had limited headroom and they go up a metre in height so were ideal.If so whats it like to work with. the only downside with them is if you need to do any welding around the sill area as you cant get to it unless you choc the car up with blocks.
ive lifted a 4x4 cherokee jeep on it no problem at all. only thing i would say is if you buy one dont buy the ones with all the bars underneath as they will restrict access to getting parts off so not worth it best off paying an extra couple hundred and getting one with free access.
i even made a chair out of an old car creeper and its perfect for sitting down and sliding around underneath....perfect head height then for working on underside
we bought the pair on ebay new think they were around 1200 each il find you the link if you want it

but it comes out a lot more than £1800. Apparently the bars running across come out if you bolt it to the floor.

this was the place we bought ours from but cant find any in there listing so may pay to give them a bell as can only see the full lift ones, baring in mind ours were purchased well over a year ago now

As much fun as a Cerb is on track, and for tooling about/posing in THIS ^^^ is what a Cerb is all about. A long Euro jaunt in a Cerb is about the best fun you can have with your pants on

I've had mine 2 months and been using it almost every day with no probelms (except the Lambda sensors failing when I collected the car). I love my Cerb and it always seems toamaze me just how fast it is. Sadly I don't think it's a car you can see the true performance of until you get it on a track.

haha your just up the road from me then im just off the a127 by the bell pub. what colours your motor as il keep an eye out for ya, if you get flashed by a gtir youll know its me and not some chav that wants a race lol .....is there many others on here from essex?

My Cerb is purple. I use it most days so it's always out and about in the local area, I even use it for work at Southend Airport. A mate of mine is looking at getting a GTIR next spring so I'll point him in your direction when the time comes.
