New Cats for MOT

I bought a pair of new cats off eBay. They were made by BMC Catalysts and seem quite well made.

I got them hot after a few miles and apart from a funny smell from the paint the car goes very well and it still sounds good (was linbked decat before).

It's in for its MOT as we speak so fingers crossed and I will post the results.

How did it do?

I used those last year for mine and it sailed through it's test.

I got the 400-cell ones instead of the 200-cell which were the standard Cerb ones.

Just make sure to take the 400-cell ones off again after the test as they don't do the car any favours long-term.

It failed but on the handbrake (surprise surprise!) But apparently the emissions we're close but then that's nothing new.

Just passed the re-test though so all good.

How a manufacturer managed to get away with producing a car with such a shambolic handbrake is beyond me.

Mine's been completely rehauled now with new shoes etc and, although better, is still absolutely awful.
