What does this button do?

Can someone tell me what this dial does? It looks like the plastic part of the dial has come off. I'm guessing it's a headlight adjuster but I can't see it referenced in the manual



It'd down by the drivers side knee if the picture is not clear

That's what I thought too. Off topic slightly, but what on earth are those orange marks on the leather? Mine has them too dotted around and they seemingly can't be shifted.

Those orange marks are remnants of glue, stronger than bloody Araldite tried everything to shift them. Given up now.

An extra few seconds spent, and the interiors could look so much smarter. Surely they weren't supplied like that from new?

Thanks, it seems to click when its goes past a certain point. I can't see the point of it to be honest. Surely the A/C can be blended with the heater anyway.

My car is half leather half vinyl and in a lot of places the glue looks to have failed and I need to spend some time tidying it all up. Not a huge deal but it is sloppy.

I've used doctor power on the passenger seat and it's come up like new. However the feel is more rough now so im going to keep conditioning it and spend more time with the liquid leather on the drivers side.

My vinyl dash doesnt seem to respond to anything though. It looks like its turning from magnolia to blue very slowly.

I like my interiors to be immaculate so will spend some time trying things in here.

The switch is the factory setting knob. The knob is taken off to stop knees from hitting it and to stop sticky fingers from playing with it.

It clicks because it's a thermostat. A word of warning, if this is adjusted to the "very cold" position the pipes, connectors, etc in the drivers footwell will start icing up and cause water in the footwell.

You probably won't use the aircon that much this time of year though.

Erm.. ooops. I er might have fiddled with it and am not sure where it was set now.

Is there any way of finding the three degree temperature that it was supposed to be set at? Is there a setting like three turns from fully open or suchlike?

The usual way is turn the air con on and hold a thermometer in front of the centre drivers vent then adjust the stat until air temp is 3 degC.

On mine I had it set about the mid point to get it to work as well as possible (still sh!te though) so the mid point would be a good place to start.

And at least they mounted the stat somewhere for you, on mine it's just cable-tied in place to one of the cross-bars under the dash.

This'll shift it.

Someone once told me nthat you should change this setting fairly frequently to keep the system running. Didn't do so coz I disconnected all the piping on mine.
