Dash Pod removal - how?

One of the LED/bulbs which lights up the speedo has died. I have read the PDF manual (very helpful) and it just shows a picture which just says 'remove the dash pod' It looks like the man has got his fingers under the unit and is pulling it upwards and forwards.

Mine seems like it's glued in and I can't even get a butter knife wedged in there let alone my fingers.

I scared to use bruteforce in case I tear the vinyl or break something.

Is there a tip for this?

It's secured from below with a couple of (wing)nuts.

It's one of the few bits I haven't actually taken off my car ..... yet.

Removing the knee panel will give you better access to it.

I got it off finally, that was hard work and I only managed to get one wingnut back on to secure it. My wrists are killing me

The bulb was just loose fortunately so it now works again and I have a fully iluminated dash

I will have to remove the lower part to find the missing wingnut but I'll wait until there is more light than just my iphone!
