Today i tried to undo the nut holding the short shaft that drives the wheel [See Pic]on the rear hub assembly
However after a lot of effort all i achieved was a nut thats turns endlessly
but does not undo
I,am assuming the threads are stripped Has anyone come across this before
Do i bin the whole thing or can it be saved

Thanks. If i manage to get the nut off can i solve the threaded bolt problem by refitting a deeper net to replace??

Was tempted to remove mine today as its a pain trying to paint with all this in the way.was going to remove once the outriggers are done to complete my back end rebuild.Glad i did'nt now as its bound to be the same on mine you gotta love these cars;)

If you look at the nylock inserts they are different colours, and the left hand threaded nut has indents on the outside on the corners, I used a cold chisel to remove mine, only because I never had a socket large enough, but ordered one when I reassembled it, remember to torque it up properly.

Try reading the workshop manual first - it is a lot cheaper that way.
