I was only trying to kill to kill a spider...

A tale of cautionary woe and why clueless partners should not try and “help” whilst you are working on your real love.
The now very ex girlfriend wanted to help whilst I bled the clutch. There is not much she could actually do so this consisted mostly of hanging around asking what I was doing, which is fine as it shows an interest. The problem came when she popped back again to see what I was doing after I had bled the clutch and was refitting the air box. I turned round to see her dripping a bit of water on the roof of the cerb. “What you doing?” I ask, “Oh, just drowning a spider on your roof...” at which point I notice the water is dripping from a clear section of tubing. I quickly look down to the bottle that was used to catch the old clutch fluid that is now minus a bit of tubing. “Did you just get that from in there?!? WTF! THATS NOT WATER!!!”
I wasn’t happy. Quickly wiped up the little puddle of clutch fluid from the sun roof (at least it wouldn’t be too large an area if it need respraying) and washed with warm soapy water and rinsed. Seems ok, but I was fuming. Even if she thought it was water, it wasn’t clear, so she was putting dirty water on my car to kill a spider. Fine, she may not have known it had similar properties to paint stripper, but whatever, do not go putting strange yellowy fluids on my car!!!
That wasn’t the only reason she’s now an ex but definitely the proverbial straw. It’s a shame as the first comment she made about the car was a classic but I will put that in the other thread.
