Help Sensor in middle of the vee

Whilst cleaning around by the starter motor I noticed in the middle of the vee at the back a broken wire that should connect to a sensor (next to a braided hose). I looked around but couldnt find the other end does anyone what this sensor does and where I'm likely to find the other end. Thanks.
You'll probably find that the oil warning light is on when you re-connect the battery. In fact i'll bet on it (unless it's bridged out inside the terminal).
That plug - around 5 to 8mm in width - is for the oil level sensor. I'd obviously reconnect it but, the most important one of the two is the pressure gauge feed, that braided hose you can see, as you can still check the level via the dip stick, as one should obviously do !

It is definatly the oil pressure sensor. If you have been working on the ignition coils then there is a good chance that you have disturbed it. If the terminal is still on the wire then the wire comes off the terminal at a right angle for clearence to the coils. If you look around the loom at the rear of the engine then you should be able to find it. If the wire is not touching an earth or connected to the switch then it will not come on with the ignition. When it is connected to the switch it creates an earth to bring on the light when the engine is not running and once the engine is running and the oil pressure will break the circuit inside and so turn off your oil pressure light.
