I'm on a quest to find why i have a high idle. Even once i have set every thing up, throttles, syncing the banks etc the idle is good whilst cold but once start getting hot the idle creeps up to 1500rpm from a nice 950-1000rpm, with the adaptive's around 5-9%, i read that positive adaptive's is too much air and negative too much fuel.

After reading from threads on here I thought I would have a look at the throttle bodies to inlet port and change the O rings, Paul ukkid35 gave me a used one that i measured and i ordered some from Polymax.co.uk part number BS031N70 which are 44.17mm ID x 1.78 cord and fit perfectly and took a day to come, best part is that 20 only cost £7 compared to more than double that racetech want.

I started stripping off them off today, and have managed to do one side, and did notice on taking them off that some of the bolts were very loose, so wondering if this was the problem, but until i do the other side and back together i don't know.

Just need to know the correct torque given that some of the bolts were loose, not that they are easy to get too mind.

The old O rings where in good order, but have changed them any way, both top and bottom O rings

8mm i think as it was a 6mm allen key.

i'm thinking that 30-40nm should be okay?

tbh they look like M6s and I'd probably go for 20Nm maybe 25Nm at a push.

You're going into Ally, with fairly short thread engagement and sqaushing rubber O-rings and a composite gasket.

Not sure if this value is noted in the engine rebuild manual.

theres no information about them in the engine manual, although does cover the 4.2 throttle bodies, but not the 4.5.

I've now managed to replace all the o rings on the throttle bodies, and torqued them down to 30nm, which compared to what they were is tight, can't believe how loose they were. i had to cut the angled end off of an allen key to get it to fit and then use a 6mm socket on my torque wrench but all done.

Had to remove the aircon pump to get to one of the bolts, what a pain in the arse for one bolt. but given the state of my aircon belt was easier to cut the belt off, and first time i've removed the F1 panel too.

Had a new aircon belt to hand as i was planning on changing it knowing the state it was in, so its been handy really that i've done it now.

That aircon belt has years left! In fact, I'll have your old one if it's going spare....

Success so far. Refitted everything. Set everything up properly. Took it for a quick drive and just need to adjust the slack out of the throttle cable and all will be good.

Was a relatively easy enough job to do. Replaced the injector o rings as well

Go for a proper drive tomorrow and enjoy for a few more weeks before next project starts.
