Bye bye Mr Cerbera (don't panic, sale not crash!)

I've never loved a car as much as my Cerb, but today he had to burble off and go play with a new keeper.



Reasons for selling are vaired, time of year, looking to minimise the potential of big bills (only going to run one car) etc..etc.. - but fundamentally it comes to money & space really. If I could keep it, I would.

I know I've done the 'sensible/right' thing, but I feel gutted. I felt sad when I let my old M3 go, and sad when I sold the elise, but the pang I have at the moment is that I really don't see where you can go after a cerb? Nothing is so completely and utterly cool. I love everything about the cerb, save for its costs, slight lack of steering feedback and perhaps it's fixed roof - but that is just 3 things, I couldn't list the things I do love in one post. I think it very hard to imagine life without a TVR in it at some point - maybe I'll have a look at a tuscan in the future.

So I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the members in this forum. I don't really post here much, but I read daily. The help/support offered, and the banter, has been immensely appreciated & it makes ownership more fun. I'll definitely pop by now and then and hopefully offer words of advice, but I think my attention will have to turn towards something more 'sensible' for the interim. I just hope I can find something 'okay' enough.

Anyway.

Feel for ya buddy . They are painfully expensive to run for a lot of people.Many of us probably expect to be in the same boat at some stage.Looks a beauty as well...quick... chase after him!Hope the gloom soon lifts.

Good luck with the next car Stuart Well done selling your car on. I'm sure the new owner will be very happy with it.

Maybe the Z4M will fill the void and help consolidate the garage a bit.

Yep, think this will touch a nerve with most of us on here. They can frustrate and cost a bit to keep in good shape - but I just can't imagine life without it. The next car, after a Cerb, takes serious thought - and serious cash to get the same buzz.

On the plus side, as one door closes, another opens.

If you're struggling to think of a replacement, give us an idea of a budget and what your next car needs to do and see what suggestions you get. Could be useful?

Sorry to hear that Mr Mong, you've been an enthusiastic contributor to the cerb community and will be sorely missed. But I expect you'll be back when you buy another Suitable replacement...good question. For sheer driving pleasure there is not much to touch a Cerbera (which is why so many sellers buy another). Au revoir!

Luckily I have two kids, I can sell those before I have to sell the cerb
