Can you buy alternator pulleys?

I really need to know this as mine probably won't come off, having a machine shop look at it, they wonder if they may damage it. If anyone has one or knows of where i could get one, please let me know. Thankyou

Forgive me for asking the obvious - but it's not a left hand thread, is it? I have a vague recollection that it might be (or I might be thinking of another car altogether, that I changed an alternator on).

In any case, I have to ask - what's the point of buying a new pulley or securing nut, if you can't get the old one off first?

It is a right hand thread for sure Andrew if it is a standard RR Alternator. I have 2 on my bench just now. I have the cerbs pulley off as the RR pulley on the new Alternator is different to the Cerbs so i have to switch pulleys over.

Just nipped out to double check as i too have had a left hand thread in the past on one. lol

Easy to get off with an impact gun.. Just hold it with a gloved hand and give it a blast..!

I just put mine in the vice with wood clamping it either side and used my breaker bar and it came away.

I have tried every trick to try and shift it, nothing works. Others have looked at it in the knowhow too. I am going to try and dremel the nut off with a carbide cutter and hope to get it off that way, or is anyone willing to sell me one?! Cheers
