Slow Windows

Hi,

Good news is they still work... but the electric windows are becoming slower, maybe I'm getting paranoid, but I don't think so. I usually have to give them a helping hand up and down now. The only time they seem to move with any gusto is when I open the door, they drop easily and strongly, but then when locking or closing the door they are slow and seem to struggle going up again.

Any advice welcomed, apart from don't use them - how can I avoid the joy of driving with the window down?

Try removing the door card and measuring the voltage to the motor when you operate the switch. Not sure how you fix it of it's low, though!

Remove door card, clean runners and rubbers/seals etc nd spray all with silicone spray, usually works a treat ime.

mine seemed stupidly slow, so i stripped the door down and scraped out the years of gunk from the sliders and the mechanism, then greased them up and ran it up and down half a dozen times working the grease into the felt.
the wiped off the excess and used a load of wd40 as a light weight lube.

they now work loads better, still not perfect though.

If you're going to go to the bother of removing the door card, remove the runners too and replace the felt runners. Sure spraying silicone in there works, for a week. Do it properly and forget about them for a year or so

There are many reasons for slow windows.
unplug the windows and door control box in the boot and blow out the connectors and plug back together.
Worked a treat with mine. As this is only a 2 minute job try this first.
