Diesel Cerbera

Will mine be the first? I've done a search on the interweb and as far as I can see nobody has converted one to diesel yet?

It's an interesting concept and one that keeps the car going at I'm guessing a reasonable cost.

I'm guessing it could be said a diesel Cerb is no less a Cerb than an LS engined one

I would have thought something like a BMW straight 6 diesel would be a bit more appropriate with a bit more oomph - and rear wheel drive to make life a bit easier?
Probably a few issues in terms of engine fit height etc though.

I'd guess one would take the 1.9TDI from a longitudinally-installed application i.e. Audi A4/A6. Find or fabricate an appropriate bellhousing and Bob's your mother's brother.

Agree it doesn't seem the most natural choice, though...

Firstly, its your car and you can do to it as you please.
In your favour, I was given quite a fright by my friends 330 diesel (chipped to 340hp) on a drag strip and it took all day to eventually bet him.
Against you - I suspect PW would turn in his grave and it is surely cheaper to put an AJP in the car if you are replacing a blown engine.

Not sure what to say about this,suppose you have your reasons and thats the main thing.I would prefer to keep with an AJP as the cost of fuel is not an issue for me with mine,most of the time i drive a diesel for work....and i suppose private.The cerb for me is a special car for nice trips out and weekends...sure people will say this is wrong as its not being used enougth but for me just to own a car like this is something i thought i would never do.:Dgood luck though bud atleast its one more still on the road.
