Exhaust hitting chassis

My car has suffered from this problem for years. The gearbox is moved on its mounts (not by me) which fixes it for a time, but it keeps resurfacing. I'm starting to think that the engine mounts might be allowing the engine to shift, and/or the gearbox mounts aren't up to keeping things aligned. Has anyone had this problem and solved it? New engine mounts (are there uprated ones?). Would like to fix it once and for all. Thanks.

I had this on mine when I had the stainless system fitted, was sorted out in the end by a blow torch and a hammer, all is good now.

I had a chat to Dan Taylor about this a while ago and he said the AJP in the Cerb is mounted properly so it doesn't tend to knacker mounts. One problem I think is that you set things up and then after a few heat cycles things have moved.

My cats tend to rub on the chassis after a while.

Easy solution(for me) is to wedge a small (3/4") block of wood between each cat and chassis rail, slacken the cat bolts and re-tighten.

The wood drops out and we are good for 6 months or so...

Raceproved had some engine mounts made up about a year ago for the ajp, I don't know if they were up rated ones or standard.

But it might be worth giving Russell a call to find out

Hi Rog,
I had a prob similar to this, which led me to acquire your middle pipes in Oct.
There are 'Tabs' welded to the middle pipes which butt-up against a rubber-faced spacer bolted to the 'Exhaust cover frame' (You know, the one that is located by 10 x 17mm bolts and 12K washers).
My tabs had broken off and allowed the exhaust piping to move a tad too much.
(Still haven't fixed this though)
