Cerb insurance

Can anybody recommend a reasonably priced broker for my Cerb? I'm 27 with 6 points . No ncb due to having works car and the best price I am getting so far is £2200 !! That's from gocompare... I think that's a bit outrageous for a second car!

Try Classic Line and see if you can get it on a 'classic car' policy. Limited mileage and does not accrue NCB but it can be a lot cheaper. They are very familiar with TVR insurance and good to deal with in my experience.

I went Adrian Flux, £710 Fully Comp buut limited mileage of 4000.

There are a few brokers who specialise in high performance but not that many insurers so you'll find thhe same quotes reappear for th same people.

Have a look on the comparison sites then call a couple oof specialist brokers, you might be able to play one off against the other so theyy drop their commission.

The comparison engines were not competitive for me either.

I am 27 with mannings 5k per year and track day cover. No points on a classic policy so NCB does not build up on here but they mirrored it from my daily driver 6 Years IIRC £400 a year

If you've got more than one motor, try the multicar thing advertised on TV (with someone... can't remember the name). Anyway, my Cerb insurance went down quite a lot

Henderson Taylor cheaper than Mannings even with 4K mileage rather than 3k from Mannings £375 includes track day cover

That's pretty good, do you know offhand if that includes European breakdown cover & European repatriation?

Mannings , rh and classicline cannot quote me because it's my first TVR and they require 12 month experience driving it before insuring it...

I went through MSM. 21 years old, 3000 miles per annum, 1282 pounds including breakdown cover, which has come in handy a couple of times. Give them a try.

I just had a bloke ring me back from performance insurance, 794 fully comp 3000 mile limit, that's more like it

Not Break down cover as you need RAC/AA for that but i do get quite a few days European cover in there as well not sure off the top of my head how many but more than i would use.

MSM and Henderson Taylor usually give me the best quotes..

When I took out the policy I was 26 with 0 (maybe 1) years NCB and it was cheapest by far! Though limited to 3000miles

Another vote for Mannings and Admiral multicar here. 4 cars 3 on multicar and Cerb with Mannings.

These do change each year though.

i have mine with mannings and you can limit the mileage really low to keep it cheap if you don't use it much.

i'm doing a list of jobs on mine at the moment, so limited at 2500, and it only cost £250 ish.

i tried the multicar admiral route, but they wanted £700!!!

Out of interest, was it that they wouldn't insure first TVR or first car of that sort of power/weight? Curious because I'm still contemplating a Cerb but already run something of higher power to weight.

they require previous experience with a powerful car, I have a 550bhp evo track car and have just chopped in my 535d for the cerb but they could not take this in to account due to me not owning it for a full 12 months, footman james( A one insurance) have quoted me 794.10 fully comp with a 3000 mile limit which is fairly reasonable so I think I will take them up on that. all the insurers claim than year 2 of ownership should be significantly cheaper , fingers crossed!
