I'd forgotten just how awesome these cars are. This is the first time in a long time that I've been out in my Cerb without my 2 young boys in tow and with an open road in front that let me bury the throttle. OMG! I'm back in love again.
TBH I've been on a bit of a downer about the car after a having get the clutch master seals done again despite having been done in April, valve clearances, lambda sensor, starter motor, rattling exhaust (not fixed yet), the fact it needs a new engine mount, 4 x new tyres (soon) plus a few other niggles. OK nothing compared to some of the massive projects you other guys are undertaking but nonetheless it had been preying on mind and I wasn't feeling the love so to speak.
It's all forgotten now. I drove home and when I arrived I just carried on for another 10 miles round the block and I loved it! From 4.5/5K and above it just pulls and pulls and pulls, awesome! And feels so planted in the bends. Stopped at my local and parked outside, cue the admiring comments and discussions around V8, SP6, TVR in general and it's demise. Fantastic! (not the demise you understand!). Can't wait to get out tomorrow and hook up with a few local TVR owners - Frog & Wicket, Rotherwick at 1pm if you happen to be near Reading/Basingstoke.

That makes two of us then!
I had been having major downer over my Cerb for the last few months: as mentioned on another thread - my temp sensor / thing that causes fans to kick in had gone (unknown to me), which meant that after taking the Cerb out for an absolute spanking in July it massively overheated, spat most of it's coolant out - diagnosed that had blown the head gasget and needed the head slightly skimmed. Oh - and the 12K service. Cue bl
y engine out repair - totally unexpected major expense (coming after usual TVR type upgrades and essential maintenance list: fuel and brake lines; HiD headlights; wheel refurb; new carpets; new shocks; pre-oiler kit; ICE; gearbox recondition; new clutch and flywheel; chassis clean and waxoil; wiper motors; door seals; oil catch tank added; remap and cooling chip; replace wishbone; battery; cats; etc etc).
So pd off with spending money on it that I then pretty much left it in my garage for 4-5 months under it's soft little cover, plugged into Optimate - couldn't face driving it in case cost me more money, and work / family / travel commitments / weather also conspired against me...... 
Couple of weeks ago decided to start to rekindle my relationship with the car - you know, go on a few dates, hold hands, see if we still liked each other.... that kind of thing. Took the family out for a couple of times at the weekend into the Peaks for a walk - used the Cerb, realising what a unique experience it is to drive, great looking car, but still couple of niggles - there was a new squeak coming from behind the dash that definitely wasn't there before the head gasket work.
Spoke to Russ at RaceProved about the niggle - he wanted the car there the next day: as bonnet came off for engine out - he suspected the bonnet mechnanism - he fixed it FOC and returned to me - NO SQUEAK!
Even though it was dark, roads not exactly bone dry or ultra grippy, just HAD to take the Cerb for a blast now finally in the car without SWMBO or the kids - and compelely echo your sentiments!!!! What a fantastic car!
WOW - this thing can SHIFT! Funny how months apart can recalibrate your senses! Was great fun giving it some berries through the gears - and I'm not sure I even hit full throttle for long (too slippery to do it in 1st or 2nd and needed to pick moment in 3rd). Just enjoying the sensations of driving - so raw, direct, visceral, fast!
Great steering feel, front end darting into the bends, driving with light touch on wheel - guiding it along, relentless acceleration through the gears, lightening overtakes, loved the way it hoovered up the road!
Driving with window down (despite cold - that's what heater are for!) to hear blare of exhaust then the snap crackle and pop down from 4k - 3k....
Looks like the love affair is back on!
My New Years Resolution? To drive the Cerb at every oportunity, and put some major miles on it this year. Business trip and weather OK - Cerb. Weekend trip with the family - Cerb. Sneaky oportunity to take for completely selfish blast - check!
