What a dipstick!

Hi all freshman here.

I managed to break the dipstick on my 4.2 AJP re-inserting it back in the engine.

Does anybody know where I can source a new one? I'm not having much luck finding one.

Also whilst I am a newbee to Cerbera ownership I have a few more niggles that someone is bound to have come across.

Slow windows. I have cleaned and greased the mechs and had the window out to clean runners. I have cleaned all connectors in the door and the drivers kick panel. I then tried connecting a battery straight to the motor, which is a fine order, so I am now suspecting a bad earth. Doe anyone know the location of the battery earth connections?

Starter motor sometimes doesn't disengage or fails to engage (makes a rasping noise and doesn't start), does this mean a new one or just a clean up?

ICE is shocking, the centre speaker is too loud in comparison to the tweeters. Does anyone know how it gets a mono signal from the stereo without monoing the stereo to the other speakers?

I had this problem and fixed it by getting hold of a new gear mechanism. Have a search and you'll find threads detailing it along with the place to get the part. It was about 30 quid I think. Getting the starter motor out is a bit of a mission & requires the sacrifice of much arm skin.

Hi Trevor,

I have a dip stick going spare from a 96 (rear engine fitting) so should be ok as long as yours has not been updated to the newer version.

Thanks, I will check this out and pluck up the courage to get my hands dirty in this cold weather.
