4.2 vs 4.5 battery and starter motors

Hi All

Strange question and I am pretty sure I know the answer but :

Were there any differences between the 4.2 and 4.5 starter motors or batteries?

I have swapped a 4.5 in to replaced my snapped crank 4.2 and now can't get it to fire up.

All of the earths and lives have been checked (13.1V and 0V respectively)but the car turns over really slowly and refuses to start.

We have tried two batteries, a 680 Ah Bosch Silver that was working perfectly before the crank snapped as well as a new battery but the engine only turns over very slowly.

I have swapped my 4.2 induction and injectors over and have a TVR Power chip to allow this to run (4.5 bottom end, 4.2 top end and induction).

We have also swapped out the crank sensor and checked the air gap.

The other issue is that the battery seems to be drained after 3 days (the new one and the bosch one), this was also never an issue so any ideas of what to check to try and track this down? I have a Cobra alarm and prior to crank snap the car could sit for over a week with no issues and fire straight up.

Hi Barry

Just had a word with Ian at torque rvt.He said,is it timed up right.Are the big ends and mains to tight,did you measure end float on cranks.Can you turn it over by hand.Hope this helps.
