Gear box drain plugs

Are the square drives here the drain and fill points for the T5 box? Been so long since i did my chims one i can't recall.

long plastic tube needed bud to top this baby up.....what oil have you sourced as i wanna do mine when she gets home.

The top plug looks a pig to get out. put it off as i can't be arsed today so went back to stripping the front end down.

I ordered all my Oil from Opie last week and went for this I am using Fuchs oil for everything and it is recommended by opie for the Cerb as well

The top plug is not too bad to get out. Continently the square recess in it is 3/8" so you can just use a 3/8 ratchet handle without a socket, which will slip relatively easily between the exhaust and gearbox. It is a bit more fun getting it back in, but you only have to get a turn started then you can tighten it with the ratchet.

For filling it I use an oil syringe like this with a length of plastic tube and a hook shaped bit of 10mm copper pipe at the end.

I found that a 3/8 socket adapter for a ratchet spanner works really well. Also have the syringe works well for the diff.

Oil is out just need to get it re-filled.
