cabrera & chimaera, share the same front indicator lense?

quick question, are the front indicator lenses on a Cerbera and Chim the same?

They could be, just depends which ones you have. I have the old discovery type on the Chim (available on Ebay)and was considering replacing my early style "LAP" made lenses on the Cerb to these, but instead have just updated to the later tuscan front flasher (available from TVR power, etc £50+ each)

They share the same lenses that were fitted on all UK military vehicles. Do a e-bay search on ex-military vehicle parts.You will find a load of them.And a hell of a lot cheaper than what you are being quoted.

perfect so its safe to say then that the cerbera lense is the same as the chimaera. its just i have 2 clear lenses ready to replace the orange front indicator Chim ones, (on the package it says cerbera clear lense) i dont want to pull out the chim yellow ones and then find out they dont fit!!

I got a pair of lenses from a Land Rover military specialist on Ebay - from Malaysia. Cost me £19 plus around £7 postage for a pair!

My Cerbera and Chimaera indicators are different so double check which ones you need.

there was a thread a good few years back explaining the least painful way to do the swap, and the best tip of all was to tape a bit of string across the front of the lens and attach a house-brick or similar whilst the sikaflex(sp) goes off.

No they are not.This is often the misconception.They are a standardised military liense that is found on a range of military vehicles in Uk Service. From Landrovers,trucks and tanks. Even trailers.So even if they can't be found at an ex military Landrover dealer. There are many other sources you can get them from.

Sooner or later though. There will be a shortage,as they are no longer using these on current military vehicles.

Yes they will fit.What I was saying is that these lenses weren't specific to Landrovers. But fitted on a range of MVP,s. so your choice of suppliers is greater.
