..who tracked down a corroded cable connector near the Air Con pressure switch as the reason the compressor wasn't cutting in. Stripped and replaced the connector, plus tested & recharged the whole system etc and now the Air Con is super.

Works as well as any other car I have had Air Con in - its absoultly freezing. He had to reset the switch under the dash to make sure the system won't ice up so for anyone who says TVR Aircon is rubbish, their talking rubbish

Throughly recommend AC Autoworks, fully mobile and very reasonable and obviously know their stuff

Can I ask how much their costs were as I have some aircon issues right now which might need looking into if I cant figure it out myself.

Took about 2 and half hours labour to diagnose and fix plus test, drain and recharge the system including dye. All done at my home address with me watching over annoyingly like an expectant father!

Bill came to £80 labour and £32.50 for refridgerant, oil and dye.

Yeap I was pleased, the guy obviously new his stuff. Reading the thread you have running about your aircon my issue was a wire in a multiplug about a foot from where it was connected to the pressure switch int he dryer. Got the multiplug on my desk at the moment and its not obvious where the problem is but whenever we bent it about a bit the compressor would cut in. Tried cleaning it up etc and still no joy so eventually we just cut it off both sides and replaced. As your thread says access was a nightmare, the only way we could get to it was remove the pressure switch (which meant draining the system first of refridgerant) - might have been easier if we had read your thread and thought of going in via the inspection panel . We tried removing the F1 panel but nothing doing there.

Ahhh I see, well luckily yours and other peoples experiances might save some headaches here. I will have a look over the weekend hopefully while the weather is miserable. Mine might be just the cold fan at the moment, we'll soon see. Thanks for your feedback.
