Might be looking for a Cerbera

Hi guys,

I might be looking for a Cerbera : I intend to sell my 911 3.2 Carrera since I've always been a fan of UK cars (I do have a couple of UK cars at home, very fond of them !)

So I do have some questions :

- what about reliability (compared to the 911 :S) ?
- what about consumption ? (I'll drive it decently, no racing or so)
- what about parts ?
- servicing costs ?
- could you service it yourself ? (if wanted)

If I buy one, I do not have any specific requests on engine type, but preferably :

- low mileage
- FSH
- full owner history
- standard or sensible upgrades
- age doesn't matter
- color : about anything but silver
- as in good nick as it gets
- with COC
- has to pass MOT on emissions
// edit : what about emissions ? How much CO2 ?

The idea is to drive it in nice weather, will do only about 2-4k miles / year

Money to spend would be around 15k GBP (need some extra to register in Belgium, ouch !)

Am I reasonable guys ?

Will try my best to answer your questions from my 18 months with my Cerb

reliability- Mine has been good but i only do 5k per year and hada track day in there as well. A second fair weather car is how i use mine.

consumption- around the 15 mpg

Parts are still pretty easy. You have TVR power, Clever Trevor, racing green to name a few.

I service mine my self and it is pretty easy if you can use spanners.

Service cost for me doing it DIY is about £200 on parts and all the oils and enough oil for half of next service also , this is a 12k service.


Reading your above you should find a good car for what you are looking for.

Thank you for the info, had a look around and indeed, there is very much info to find (if the PH search function works )

Checked out about taxes, & that's the real bummer : about 1500€ one off tax (registration), then yearly 1880€ road tax (4 l engine)

F***ng government will all their emissions crap

You should be able to find one for that money.

The only things I'd add are:

• MOT & Emissions... Just make sure you get one that has a cat. They are simple enough to swap the cats out between tests.
• Mileage... Buy on condition. These cars like to be driven. Low mileage examples can sometimes have more problems than a higher mileage one.
