Should I have disconnected this?

Just replacing my dash and have managed to remove the capillary for the engine temperature seemingly intact but now wondering if I should have removed the oil pressure connector behind the gauge or at the other end? Is it a trip to Speedy cables?

Oil Pressure is just a pipe that push's on to a ridged ferrule. I cut mine off and when refitting a cup of hot water helps push it back on with ease.
