Numpty question....I need to send my head studs off to the machine shop so as to allow them to ceramic seal the block.
Here's a pic of some of the bits pieces I have in the box o bits... Can anyone confirm which of these are the head studs - there are various lengths, mixed numbers (4, 5, 6 etc), one doesnt have the point that the other 3 have etc...
Just dont want to send the wrong thing or too many things or miss that somethings missing or that something isnt quite right etc...

There is a pic in the engine build manual that gives the stud lengths.
The outer ones are all 50mm - 8 per head
The inner larger ones are 4 different sizes
Per head
2 x 90mm
3 x 135mm
2 x 125mm
3 x 168mm
In your pic there are 5 very short studs in the top right tray. I reckon these are the ones for the sump.
The large studs are in sets of 6 and 4 so they must be the large head studs
The bottom right tray has 21 studs but the heads only need 16 so there are 5 extras from somewhere.
I think they may be the studs for the front cover. In my pics there are 10 of them - 5 on the block and 5 on the sump
None of the head studs are metric but the sump and front cover studs are.

So I reckon that all the top left, all the bottom left, the large ones from top right and the 16 from bottom right. This must constitute all the head studs.... The timing cover and sump aren't needed just yet.
I assume the 4 spacers from top right aren't required yet either...!

Just had another thought about this Gaz.
Presumably you're doing this to solve a porous block? If the whole block is being dipped or something and they've asked for the head studs it's probably to stop the threads being treated - in which case you really want to block any open threaded holes - just worth checking with them first as it might save you chasing the threads out later.

Agghh - They have received the head studs but (doh) they also need the nuts....
I am not at home but does anyone know which nuts they will need?
They have the block, heads and crank (afaik). They need the nuts so they can do the ceramic thing.... I just dont know what size, type, number etc....
