I have EBC YellowStuff on my 928 which I used to track, and I've been reasonably happy with them, although they did start leaving deposits on the discs eventually causing judder when very hot. However I was very impressed with their cold performance and lack of fade.

At 56 quid they seem like a reasonably wallet friendly option for the Cerb, and a practical one too as the car needs to get to and from the track as well. However there may be other options I've overlooked - any suggestions?

Pagid RS-14's on mine but Carbon Lorraine also get good right ups.

I had EBC but the pagids are in a completely different league, both in price and performance.

Ferodo DS2500 brake pads for AP Racing CP5200 calipers.
The part numbers on each of the pads are: CP3215D50-APF404

As you said, completely different price point at 200 quid a set.

Best price I've seen is perhaps 120, not out of the question, but I'd need convincing that they are worth more that twice the cost of EBCs. In particular they would need to be as good from cold.

Carbon Lorraine are far better performance wise than the DS2500 and cheaper too. Drop Brummie a PM for a price quote.

Graham is right, there is nothing out there to match the carbon loraine's.
Though they are a pretty hardcore pad, unless you are looking for every last inch and driving your car at 100% on track you might like to try something else first. Also with increased stopping power comes more disk replacement, which can become expensive.

I don't think those are the right ones, you need the FRP216H ferodo pads

I find Mintex good on and off the track, when they get very hot on the track they can go a bit wooden but seem to hold there own fine.

I have just fitted a set to the cooper s last weekend as well and seem to perform well on the road for that as well.

Mintex ones at around £50 are great for road use but I wouldn't recommend them for any track use.
20 mins of Castle coombe warped my front disks through overheating the pads.

Another recomendation for the Carbon Lorraine pads. Good for road, great for track

I wasn't ready to spend £200+, not least because my discs will probably need replacing soon anyway. So I plumped for the £56 EBC YellowStuff - better the devil you know...

I Have to agree i was only doing 10 laps of Knockhill at a time and had to come in to cool off but that was for for a small track at only 1 mile long i guess.

The carbon Lorraine can get very hot, you need to cool any pads down after use with a lap or two with little or no brake use.
I tripped the fuel cut off at Spa in the compression before O'rouge and ran out of petrol three corners later, when I pulled up the pads were on fire as they hadn't had any cooling.
