Bye Bye 4.2 AJP..... Thank you for all the Smiles per Miles

Well today's the last day im going to enjoy my 4.2 ajp as my new engine is getting fitted next week.

It's been a cracking engine and has never let me down. The oil pressure is spot on at 70 psi and it revs very freely.

I've spent many a happy hour tinkering with it and managed to squeeze a very respectable 370 bhp out of it.

But the time has come to say bye bye. Its a bitter sweet moment, i am sad to see it go, but very excited about its replacement.

Because the 4.8 AJP WR is waiting for its new home

There from CP pistons in the states.

I will do a full write up on the 4.8 once its fitted and mapped.

Exciting news Graham, bet you cant wait & it sounds like its going to be a real beast of an engine, i always thought those 4.2`s were a bit underpowered!!!

Ive just got back after one final blast with the 4.2

Im not sure what I'm going to do with the 4.2 just yet, I will probably hang on to it for a couple of months.


Itiejim,,,, I got the pistons direct from the states, I will have a word with the man who designed them later this week and see if he's happy to do another set. But I've been asked not to post any details of them on a public forum.

I've never liked the clatter cams either, the first time I heard a AJP with them in I thought the engine was knackered

Pistons are relatively easy to spec and source, its the liners that are difficult. Where you getting the liners from?

I think there out of a jaguar engine,,,, but I'm not sure, but I will find out for the 4.8 write up.
