Anyone else noticed under section 4 of the new style V5s there are spaces for sound levels; stationary, engine revs & drive-by.
Oh Lordy :-)

Also, managed to finally overcome my serious bout of GRS (Griff rev syndrome). After 3 weeks or so finally plucked up the courage for a sustained revving past 6500rpm....holy sheite! There's a 'little' more performance up at those heady heights, aint there!
(How do I insert those smilies??)

I'm slowly gathering a collection of 'bits that drop off' in the ashtray. Yesterday's offering was a nut about 12mm that tinkled down and dropped on my foot/brake pedal. Its all nice and shiny. I had a look the best I could, upside down, head the the footwell, arse where my head should be, which gave the wife a pleasant change of view!, but couldnt see diddly. Everything seems to be working fine/tight etc, so I'm hoping that its probably seccuring something unimportant. I know it's a very long shot in the dark, but any ideas as to what this nut may have come from? It seems to have come from somewhere above the pedal box?

Cheers

Let me get this right. You're falling apart, one of your nuts fell off, so you spent yesterday up side down with your wife looking at something shiny. Only she couldn't see anything at your end, so you a had a long a shot in the dark somewhere above her box?

She's just given birth to our 2nd child so she wont let my shiny thing anywhere near her pedal box and would remove the other nut if I tried anything that involved inserting or screwing tight ;-)

Nick,

This only applies to your Cerbera, to see why, I have a small video. The shaking of the camera is because the noise made the camera man jump.

It's approx 4mb in size but worth the wait, so turn up the sound and enjoy.

If you have a look behind the bonnet knob under the dash, there is a bolt that holds the bottom part of the binnacle to the bulkhead. This worked loose on mine so it could be that?

Thanks for that Trooper, gives me something to work with. Looking forward to going home tonight and letting the wife know I intend to stick my head in a dark and warm void, just hope she wont get too upset <g>

Nick,

It could be one of the nuts which hold on the cover which goes over the insruments. One side has a wing nut the other a plain nut.

I did have to remove that cover to remove the power connector for the orgin blue i I had fitted.

I would try there first?

Great stuff Dave, I'll try that 1st. Handy having the former custodian around for technical advice, I'll try not to abuse it :-)

Think I found the offending blighter. Seems to have come from (I'm not very technical) 1 of a few bolts that seem to hold the framework for the pedal box to the body, but it was the furthest back/highest up of all of the bolts, a REAL b'stard to get to/get at. Only managed finger tight so far, as neither I nor a spanner (some say we are the same thing) can get any further into the car, upside down or not!
