I dyno'd my 4.2 a while ago. I wasn't impressed with the way it was done or the final reading. It pulled out of the rollers about 3 times before this final reading was given. One of their early attempts gave 1000bhp and 1300 Nm of torque which seamed a little opptermistic.

Anyway those that know about these things could you take a look at the graph and tell me if it looks like a normal graph or if you think it slipped in the rollers again. If it is a good pull then how do I find my missing horses?

What sort of dyno was that? You probably want to try it on a 'benchmark' dyno eg SRR.
If its down on power then there are so many things that might be the cause. A good Cerbera specialist will soon work that stuff out eg throttle pots, accelertator travel, blocked cats, leaking manifold, throttle bodies, air filter, plugs, leads, map etc etc....

My old Cerb (4.2,) had almost the same output, about 280ish, was collapsed cat.

Take it to Owen Developments and get a run there. At least they know what they are doing and it's close to you.

my 99 4.2 cerb in standard trim made around 300whp about 350bhp at the fly and around 300ft/lb on 2 different rollers last summer if that helps

The dyno in question gave reasonable figures for the other cars that day but they seamed to struggle a lot with getting the Cerb to stay on the rollers.

So a service and re-setup and check the cats then. Nothing to hard. Only thing I'm a little hessitant about doing is shimming the valves. Anyone near Oxford done it before and fancy teaching a new boy the ropes? There will be plenty of tea, doughnuts and bacon butties in it
