Running on one bank

I have got the car up and running after messing about with fitting the inlets back on. I have been trying to set up the banks to run smooth but no joy set the pots to 19% when cold but need it to fire on all 8 first to heat.

It was ticking over there at last but i pulled my infrared thermometer out one bank was up at 300 degrees the other at 40 so i shut it down after only a min or 2 of running.

Any idea's where i need to start to look. I know it will either be fuel or spark?? worth swapping the coil packs over?

Did one manifold get red hot in a matter of seconds ?

If so your ecu is up set and the electronic timing is out of whack,, resetting the adaptives and fault codes should fix it.

This could be it what is the timing ment to read

I had a bad fuel leak issue but we won't go there so i had to knock the battery off quickly a few times there so this could be it.

I did not let it get hot but if i left it running it could have went red hot.

Are both coil packs installed the right way around? Don't ask how I know this problem causes the same fault !

Found the problem a dead coil pack. I only bought less than a year ago from a well known indy and covered less than 1500 miles on it. I put one of the old ones in for now but unsure what one was breaking down under load. But at least it let me fault find and let me run the car up.

I will give them a call and see if it is under a 1 years part warranty

Was this one of the expensive coil packs or cheaper part ? I've just bought the saxo type ones and wondering how much longer the Bosch one would last ?

it was a expensive one 62 quid each

Ok il shut up i tried one more time pluging it back in to the newer coil packs and it is running again. The idol is on the high side but hope this will come down a bit when the air box's are back on and i can fine tune the pots again when it is nice and warm.
