Cracked manifolds :(

Ok people loads of work going on at the min and now discovered both manifolds are cracked




What are your thoughts please .... I know there are plenty of Cerbs driving around with cracks in manifolds and its a very common problem !

Anybody ever used this stuff ?


Is it possible to weld up on car ? i'm not liking the idea at all

Not to sound disrespectful to the name of or anything, as I know he's very highly thought of in the Tiv world, but didn't you buy this car from him? Surely a lot of the problems you've been experiencing in the early stages of ownership are common problems and should have been rectified before you took delivery?

Or am I missing something and jumping in at the deep end...

i have both sides off at the minute, and welded one side up due to cracks, but just as i was about to wrap the passenger side i found that too to be cracked, so need to weld that up too.

If you can get them stress relieved after welding they should last a lot longer.Not sure who would be able to do that near you though. A few well set up mechanical fab shops up here have the equipment, but depends whats near you.

I wouldn't hold too much hope on that exhaust repair stuff lasting long at all, as I would think the mis-match in thermal expansion coefficients would be too great. Still, nothing ventured nothing gained, and at a tenner I guess you can't be too dissapointed whatever the results are.

Hope you get these issues resolved quickly. There seems to be far too much time in a garage and not enough on the road! has a good name in the TVR community as Robsco highlighted, and if these issues have sneaked through the pre sale checks or weren't highlighted in discussions, then i'm sure he will do everything he can to help you out Plus I'm sure the car has a warranty, so you will be sorted there Looking forward to hearing the Cerb on the road soon

Going down to Haywood & Scott first week in may for exhaust, decat and manifolds sorted. I put them back a bit because i didn't want to miss Chatsworth
