protech shocks
Discussion
Will very much depend on your spring rates, your driving style and roads you use and how they were set from the factory!
I have mine mid point front and fully firm rear although I have just adjusted the rear to give move rebound damping. They may need to go back and have the bump stiffened if it doesn't work though.
I run 500 lb front springs and 425 lb rears.

My ProTechs are only one-way adjustable.
Fully open (softest) is fully anti-clockwise.
Mine have 13 clicks stop to stop.
I have found that 8 clicks in from fully soft fit my requirements for road 'n' track amply.
Good Luck but I would be very careful as to how much you push them whilst you're adjusting. I thgought I had found an ideal set-up and then had a massive whoopsie on a motorway

Hello just braught new protech shocks to replace my cracked nitrons was wondering what was a good setting for everyday driving and is the adjustment clockwise on the adjuster many thanks chris
One way or two way?Spring rate?
What do you want it for?
The rear should always be damped softer for max grip.
I've got Protect twin adjustables on mine. At the time, the fact that a few TVR Challenge cars were using them on track was enough to vouch for their effectiveness. But I think twin adjustables are a wee bit beyond me, I think I have the damping right, but its much harder to gauge when you've combinations of setting at each corner. No complaints at all though, and the car is tight yet compliant on the road.
I'm a long-term fan. We've run protechs on the race car for years .. and even though we're down on the class power limit the car is still capable of fastest class lap on some tracks. They're brilliant value. Many people don't know the different options available when you spec the dampers though, off the shelf isn't necessarily what you need, though still very very good
I've lost count of the number of kits I've done and had so few problems that at one point it was the only damper I was willing to sell mail order.

Joolz, as you know I'm very happy with the current spring rate, are the Protech springs that come with the shocks different to stock? Are you still supplying Protechs? I'm currently looking at the Racetech Direct option which is £500+vat, and I'm very price sensitive.
