Did some work on Cerb yesterday changing the throttle cable, absolute pig of a job, but I can do a write up on the best way to do it if people are interested. Also changed the 100 amp fuse to 125 amp.

What a difference with a new throttle cable you can really moderate power so much better!

Hooked up the laptop to the ecu and it connected but it kept reconnecting so I would get a second or two of data than it would reset the connection to the ecu and therefore the data would reset to zero and back again which made setting the pots very difficult. Has anybody had experience of this?

I'm running:
Prolific USB to Serial cable with the latest software
Setup in device manager as baud rate of 4800 on com 1
TVR diagnostic old versions (although tried new and no difference) run in compatability mode as administrator.
TVR Power diagnostic connection to ECU

Makes no difference weather engine is running or not albeit when the ignition is on the MIL light is on is this normal?

First thing i would check is continuity in your lead. D connectors have a habit of breaking the solder/wire in data cable when being coiled away.

Some USB to serial converters have a habit of doing this. Probably worth trying a different one based on a different chipset, or a laptop with an RS232 port.

Something else to try that seems to affect usb serial converts is to turn off FIFO buffers under advanced settings in the com port settings dialog.
