I am going to have mine done soonish. I am going up to TVR ecosse to have mine done as there is not much left of the near side one.

The rough parts on the tubes are where paint has been applied straight over the wax oil and dirt.the piccys were after i cleaned up for an hour around main chassis etc.Not to worried about bare welds just not to happy with the tube alignment.on this side the tube steps one way about 5mm.On the other side the tubes line up but there is a real bend where they join.The tyre fitter who was putting new rubber on the front called me in to show me and said he thought it was disgusting,first time ive really had time to get under and have a good look.have decided to clean up the welds/treat and then fill the tubes to try and flush em out.As you can see tha main chassis is in really good nick,its a shame this has happened and more time will need to be spent to sort this out.my drivers side was in good nick but i thought i would have both sides done to save later visits....and to enhance the car

Not what you'd expect at all,would of thought you would use some type of pipe clamp for alignment before welding!
Thinking of taking mine to tvr power, stourbridge. £1300 plus vat only about an hour and half drive fom me.
Feel for you,I'd be gutted myself.

bud this saga started last year when a local indie damaged the drivers side,and said they did'nt.So thought i would bite the bullet after finding rot on passengers side...after a 250 quid inspection told me they were fine,hence my reason to try a new garage.Was quoted on the phone and paid what i was quoted...this was slightly cheaper than online price.Not annoyed cos this seems the norm down here,dont want to knock good workmanship cos there are people out there with pride and time to do a good job....thing is i looked into this and the garage were recommended.

Just because they quote less than others to win the work,quality and pride should always take precidence !
Had a look into mb motorsports down your way,seem reasonbly priced but after looking on the map, tooo far to go.
Who did yours or is there posting rules?

Have you spoke to the garage who have done the work, and do they carry any warranty?

Hard to tell from the pics, how has the weld been done?

The weld is ok in my book..its just the tubes dont line up.They are butt welds and are slightly high,but this is no problem as i can clean em up.you can see in the first piccy how the tubes dont line up.also on the drivers side the tube is bent...again not to a stupid degree but there is a definate bend...again i can loose some of this with careful filling.This was only spotted on saturday at about 5 so have not spoken to garage yet.

I presume they must have explained that they were doing a 'best efforts' and that the finish would be a little rough?

Lol no they said the welds would be really clean and i would hardly notice emand that is really what they said.the trouble was the car was booked in for 3 weeks max in the first instance,anyway nearly 8 weeks later i get her back,would have wanted to see car on ramps so i could inspect the work but the ramps were all being used,plus i trusted em so you could say this is kinda my fault too

Painting over waxoyl and dirt come on what kind of workmanship is that. Basic stuff
