After a completely incompetent first attempt, I have reposted with a title this time rolleyes

Anyone know these cars please? Tim, your comments about your car have been noted. Might pop along to have a look at it. Might be worth you sending me some more photos if you have them?

I'd agree. The 4.5 being better value, but probably only worth £17k if it is in immaculate condition. I'd want no scratches on paintwork, fully waxoiled chassis with no rust, no sign of outrigger rot, brand spanking clean engine bay with refreshed cooling system, good electrics, proper suspension setup & relatively new shocks, and a near-perfect interior for £17k.

Certainly at that price I wouldn't expect to be spending anymore than £500-£1000 on the car to get it into near-showroom condition.

The autotrader one however looks a bit too cheap.....I'd be asking why it was at that price.

Certainly my experience when looking to buy was that the price ranges for good to very good condition Cerbs was:

4.5: £13500-£15000
4.2: £12000-£14000
SP6: £11000-£14000

As you can see the 4.5 holds its value better as there were fewer of these cars. Hence it would be the better investment. It's also the quickest! ;-)

17k for a perfect car would be a steal if you ask me. Once again we are talking prices down are we not. A car that is spot on should be hitting 25k plus because that's what it's worth.

Common sense at last. The last thing we need as owners is a race to the bottom on price.

Absolutely right chaps - as owners are we the only Marque that talks down our own prices?

I somehow just can't imagine other owners of other top class cars saying it's only worth xyz.

17k for a real good one is spot on in my book....20+ for a minter is where they should be...ive spent over 3 grand on mine this year so far,,,,,about 2 last year, and its still far from done.if i sold mine for 20k now i would be out of pocket.wont sell mine as i love it but unless you are lucky enough to pick one up for lower money then good luck.by the way i do 90% of my own work if mine had been in an indie the cost would be££££££££££££ due to time and not so much in parts as they are a time consuming car.

I've just passed 5k doing stuff myself, shudder to think what would have been the bill if the work had been done at a dealers.

i like that one a lot

i know little about the 2 white Cerbs (i love the colour, more or less like mine)
but i dont know the history and i haven't seen them.

on PH "a lot" of info this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3352196.htm
at least the current owner is active here

i am not sure but i think a couple of years ago there has been a white cerb for sales, looked like the second one, but without the black spiders. And that on, if i remember correctly, was owner by a company that rented it for track day... but i am really not sure if it is this car here....

agree 100%
17k for a perfect 4.5 (in a not outspoken color) is not realistic at all.
but if you can find it, BUY IT

Similar story here albeit mine was an early 4.2 bought for 9k and, having been stood for 2 years, in need of some TLC. I've spent 4k in the last 9 months, and the old girl could still benefit from having another 5 or 6k spent on her to make her tiptop (chassis refurb, diff bushes, retrim, new carpets, noisier exhaust, etc etc...).

Ooh I don't know Mark, have a peek on the Porsche forums concerning 996/911
I've just sold mine & took quite a loss on it, whereas the Cerbera over the same period has held the price quite well looking art the ads etc.

I stand corrected.

I just don't quite understand it still.

I will try and take some more pictures if it ever stops raining and I can get it out of the garage! The seat bolster is being repaired next week and a new throttle cable being fitted so probably wait until after Chatsworth show. Thanks

Hi,

The white one on auto trader is my old Cerbera, which I still regret selling!

PM if you want any info on it, no horror stories to speak of but a couple of things that may help if you decide to view it,

Cheers

I am 7k in after getting the car in just over 1 year of owner ship. Around 3500 miles of driving it. I have 5k left to spend on it to get it where i want. And done 100% of the work so far myself. Would be frighting to see what that would cost to pay some one to do the work.

A little mental looking back on it now. I should have kept the Chim and slapped a turbo on it and seen 400bhp for 3-4k. Oh well never mind it is a keeper now no matter what smile

I hate having OCD lol
