Just wondering do you get points or a fine for using a plate with no gaps between numbers and letters (see profile) im running on 9 points so dont want a ban.

Usually a slap on the wrist.
Best to carry a normal plate that you can attach or fit easily and claim you 'forgot' to replace it after a show. Works for me.

It is a non endorser able offence but carry's a 60 quid fine. How ever you will get pulled for dodgy plates and traffic cops being traffic will pick holes in your car and you may end up getting points in other ares's. Much easier to stay legal and to try not draw attention to your self (not easy in a cerb i guess) lol

They can take the plate away from you - you dont own it, DVLA do. So if you take the pee they will take it back if they see fit.

Take note 3 tickets and DVLA will have the plate off ya and replace it with an age related one and you won't get any money off them either

Im thinking of getting a under sized one for the front but with correct spacing.... Do the police bother with them or is it acceptable.... ish ?

I would think it depends how undersize it is as long as its not silly small then should be ok, would think you would be a blur in the rear view mirror with the beast Gray

wont be silly small...... about a 3rd smaller... so it looks tastful.

Only done about 400 miles... im still waiting for the new bigger injectors and a re mapped chip to arrive.... its killing me... i want it run in, so i can get it dynoed

Can't be 100% sure from your profile pic but looks to be a non standard font, if so this will cause you more issues than the spacing. As long as the plate can clearly be read by ANPR then you won't have a problem. I run a 3/4 sized plate with no spacing on the front and its not an issue but I have been very deliberate on making the plate look 'standard' otherwise. The font is correct, GB logo, plain black text etc. Never ever had a problem on any of the 3 TVRs I have run it on (except at MOT time)

I've got a non-standard front plate, letters about the right size but the edge cut down. I've never had any trouble.

On 9 points I'd make sure I was a motoring Mother Theresa. There are no points for the plate but if you do get stopped for an endorsable offence you are already dipping into the available discretion with your plate.

It's said often that if you court attention don't be surpised if you receive attention.

As it stands what is an officer going to think about your respect for the rules of the road if you have 9 points and are taking the mick with your plate. Wait for the points to drop off then push the boundaries if you so wish.

You might still be in regulations with the relatively little amount you've removed.

Police can also take the plate off of the car, and return it to the DVLA, which leaves you needing recovery from the roadside. Non comforming numberplates are becoming a hot issue in Essex and there are specific operations set up to target them.

Not ture, they must warn you (in writing) 3 times before they tell the DVLA, then its up to the DVLA to get involved, if this does happen (very rare) just get a good solicitor and the problem should go away. (very grey area)
