Phew! Outriggers
Discussion
Now having owned a Griff and a Chim before I had good knowledge to call upon but still when I bought my Cerbera back in October I had only a cursory look under it (I really really wanted the car but I could only see it just before dark so had very little time and it was either buy it or come back again and risk losing it) All the indications were that the outriggers were good but its only when you strip off the waxoyl you can really be sure. But this weekend I stripped off the waxoyl at the front of the outriggers and cross bar.
And.. The passenger side had one very small 5 pence piece size patch of powder coating chipped off (thanks to a stone I guess) and the triangular body mounting plate has powder coating coming away at the edge. So stripped the flaky coating off, treated, painted with 2 coats of clear POR 15 and then recoated with waxoyl
As for the drivers side - perfect, powdercoating 100% intact including on the body mounting plate and zero rust so just a recoat of waxoyl.
Not bad for 10 year old car - so now just got to worry about the Speed Six going pop
. Managed to trace down a lot of the history of the car, and no sign of a rebuild so far.

Hi Puffsback, how did you go about researching your Cerb
I have all the history from 2008 via the previous owner (who spent 4k alone on it in 2011, new clutch, 12k service pls tappets and 4 new tyres plus anything else STR8Six advised doing) There is though just the stamps in the book up until then. However their all from 'The TVR Centre' where the car was also purchased from new, so I just emailed Bespoke Performance who are basically all the guys from now defunct 'The TVR Centre' and within the bounds of the UK Data Protection Act they kindly sent me all the information they had on the car from new - which was extensive (2002-2006). I found out lots of interesting stuff, chiefily the 18" spiders were not on the car from new (they were added in 2003) and also its been very well looked during that time, lots of money spent doing whatever was required. The only thing I am missing is where the car was from mid 2006 - Jan 2008, it only did 1500 miles in this time but I have very little info on its whereabouts. I stupidily should have taken a copy of the previous owners V5.I know the car was sitting around for a while in 2007 as the DVLA MOT history showed it had no MOT from Feb to May 2007. No advisories though for 2006 and 2007
