Usually the misses but not this time!
Cerb developed an annoying sqeak from the rear suspension a few weeks back and it really became
Unbearable, jacked it up and checked all the rubbers and components covering them with a generous
Helping of silicon spray all in vein.
Next step was to drop the car in to Jason at Str8six ( other works required too) a call followed to inform
Me that the sqeak was coming from one of my Gaz shocks, these had been fitted some years back by a previous owner.
The next step was surely replacement so I thought!
Str8six suggested I ring Gaz to see if a rebuild would be a more economical route meaning a labour charge to
Remove and refit and the rebuild cost.
A call was made to Gaz who I must say couldn't have been more helpful, they explained that
Earlier shocks had a problem with the adjustment spring causing a sqeak and if I drove the car to them
They would remove the shocks carry out the repair all free of charge, this on shocks approx 3years old.
Car is booked in! Big thanks to Gaz and Str8six and if anyone out there is finding the same problems maybe
A call to Gaz would be worthwhile.

Gaz are good from that point of view i had a Gaz nickle fail in the first 500 miles on my chim and they turned it round in 2 days for me. Mine used to squeak all the time but i just lived with it.

Gaz are undoubtedly good at dealing with problems when they arise. However there do seem to be a lot more problems with them than other brands.

I eventually binned my "leak and squeaks" and fitted Nitrons. No more problems.

You say no more problems! How often do you service them?
Seems they need reg service intervals from friends experiences!
Not disputing the quality of the shocks, but i'm pritty sure if you phoned Nitron after three years
with a problem i'm not sure you would get the same level of customer service!
No connection to Gaz by the way

Name and shame rules deter me from saying anything other than how pleased I am with the quality of the Nitrons and how much they have improved handling and how reliable they have been. They are undoubtedly more expensive than some alternatives but in my experience their customer service has been at least as good as anyone else's. You pay your money and take your choice.

I have no association with Nitron or Gaz either - just a customer of both.

Good to hear your positive feedback, if money was not an issue i would have to go with Ohlins as imho they are by far the best!
