Speed 6 fuel vapour smell

Has anyone else ever had this ? When warmed up get a fuel vapour smell through the air vents. Also quite strong when window open at lights etc. doesn't appear to be any leaks or excessive fuel usage (apart from normal Lol ) any thoughts ?

Ps. Nice to see some Tivs at the Duxford show today, despite the poor weather.

With the number of stories about cars catching fire and regular fire damaged cars available at places like douglas valley etc I would n't drive it until its is fixed.

+1 I've never had a fuel smell so Speed Six Cerbera's can or should run with no fuel smell at all. We lost a SP6 in our region due to fire so get all your fuel pipes checked or replaced, it's peanuts to pay out.

Mine did this about 3 years ago, first there was a strong smell of petrol through the vents, particularly when driving slow (easy to miss, then!) and a comment from a passer-by, "your car's over-fuelling, mate".

I took the airbox off (mine's also a Speed 6), the rubber pipe from the off-side bulkhead to the fuel rail was wet with petrol, but only when the fuel pump was on. It was pissing out through a 1 inch split. I guess the fact that the manifold is on the other side of the block is the reason I am able to type this............

Got a replacement through TVR Power, cost about £20 and fitted in 10 minutes.

Thoroughly check the other parts of the fuel pipes as well.

I too have the save problem and I have noticed that fuel is goin down as quick as the price has gone up, I'll have to check the above out, thanks mulsanne.

If one fuel pipe is iffy, replace them all as they're likely the same age. The other cause of fuel smells is from the filler neck coming unstuck from the tank.
